Our Story

Our mission

Our mission at Youth With Faces is to gives justice-impacted youth the skills needed to break the cycle of incarceration and create positive futures. We believe in the potential of these youth and give them the opportunity to learn and practice critical social, job and life skills. These are essential to their success when returning to their families and communities.

Our reach

First launched in 2001 to provide materials and meals to the residents of Dallas County Juvenile Department‘s Youth Village, our organization began expanding its scope to include rehabilitation programs in 2008. In 2015, we expanded to serve the residents of both Medlock Residential Treatment Center and Letot Girls’ Residential Treatment Center. We also incubated and helped launch the innovative social enterprise Café Momentum. In 2022, we expanded again to serve the juvenile residents of Collin County Juvenile Probation Services and in 2023 we launched our first program for youth on community probation.

Today, we impact the lives of more than 350 youth annually through programs, post-release support and special events throughout the juvenile system.

Our name

In 2015, we changed our name from Youth Village Resources of Dallas to Youth With Faces to better reflect our purpose ­– giving young men and women in the juvenile justice system a second chance at being more than a faceless statistic. By giving them employable skills and a network of support, we help them create new identities – as capable young people with something positive to contribute to our community.
